SSB Constable Exam Pattern & Selection Process

1. Written Test– Objective Type (Multiple Choice Questions).
– Total of 100 questions.
– Duration: 2 hours.
– Marks: 100.
– Topics: General Knowledge, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and General Hindi/English.
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)– Race: 5 km in 24 minutes for male candidates and 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes for female candidates.
– Long Jump: 11 feet (male) and 9 feet (female).
– High Jump: 3 feet (male) and 2.5 feet (female).
– This stage is qualifying in nature.
3. Physical Standard Test (PST)– Height: Minimum 165 cm for male candidates, 157 cm for female candidates.
– Chest: Minimum 77 cm (unexpanded), 82 cm (expanded) for male candidates.
– Weight: Proportionate to height for both male and female candidates.
– This is a qualifying round.
4. Medical Examination– The candidate’s physical and medical fitness is checked, and disqualifications are made based on health issues.
5. Final Merit List– Based on the written test and performance in physical tests.
– Candidates who clear all stages are placed in a merit list and considered for final selection.
