Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

The age limit is calculated as on 1 January 2026:

1. Flying Branch:
   • Minimum Age: 20 years
   • Maximum Age: 24 years
   • Born between 2 January 2000 to 1 January 2006 (both dates inclusive).
2. Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical):
   • Minimum Age: 20 years
   • Maximum Age: 26 years
   • Born between 2 January 2000 to 1 January 2006 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification

The detailed qualifications will be made available in the official notification, which will be accessible starting 2 December 2024. However, the broad requirements are as follows:

1. Flying Branch (AFCAT & NCC Special Entry):
   • Bachelor’s Degree (any discipline) with a minimum of 60% marks and must have studied Mathematics and Physics at the 10+2 level.
     OR
   • A degree in Engineering with at least 60% marks.
2. Ground Duty (Technical):
   • Engineering degree in the relevant discipline with 60% marks. Specializations include Aeronautical, Mechanical, and Electronics.
3. Ground Duty (Non-Technical):
   • For Administration: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 60% marks.
   • For Education: Master’s degree in the relevant field with 50% marks.

Selection Process

The selection process for AFCAT 01/2025 involves the following stages:

1. AFCAT Written Examination:
   • Duration: 2 hours
   • Total Marks: 300
   • Sections: General Awareness, Verbal Ability, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, and Military Aptitude.
2. Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT):
   • For Technical Branch candidates only.
3. Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Interview:
   • Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for an interview at one of the AFSB centers.
4. Medical Examination:
   • Conducted at authorized centers to assess the physical and medical fitness of candidates.
