ECGC PO Eligibility Criteria 2024

Nationality

A candidate must be:

• A citizen of India, or
• A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 intending to settle permanently, or
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya, etc., with an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.

Educational Qualification (as of 01/09/2024)

• The candidate must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).

Age Limit (as of 01/09/2024)

• The candidate must be between 21 and 30 years of age.
• Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as mentioned below:

Steps to Apply for ECGC PO 2024

To apply online for ECGC PO Recruitment 2024, follow these steps:

1. Visit the official website at www.ecgc.in.
2. Go to the ‘Careers’ section and click on “ECGC PO Recruitment 2024”.
3. Register with your basic details to generate a registration number and password.

Selection Process

The ECGC PO Recruitment 2024 selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Phase 1: Preliminary Exam – Online objective test.
2. Phase 2: Mains Exam – Objective and descriptive paper.
3. Phase 3: Interview – Final stage.

Exam Pattern

Phase 1: Prelims Exam

• The Prelims will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) across three sections: English, Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude.
• There will be negative marking of 0.25 for each incorrect answer.

Phase 2: Mains Exam

The Mains will have both objective and descriptive sections. The objective section will cover Reasoning, English, General Awareness, and Quantitative Aptitude, while the descriptive test will assess letter and essay writing skills.

Phase 3: Interview

Candidates who clear the Mains exam will be called for an interview. The final merit list will be based on a combined score of the Mains and Interview.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of approximately Rs. 75,000, including basic pay and allowances. Additional benefits such as medical insurance, gratuity, and pension are provided as per ECGC rules.
