Detailed Eligibility Criteria
The TG TET is divided into two papers, each catering to different levels of teaching:
- Paper I: For candidates intending to teach Classes I to V.
- Paper II: For candidates intending to teach Classes VI to VIII.
Paper I (Classes I to V)
Educational Requirements:
- Candidates must have completed Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates).
- Additionally, candidates should possess one of the following:
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.)
- 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
- 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Alternatively, candidates with 45% in Intermediate/Senior Secondary (40% for SC/ST/BC/Differently abled) who were admitted to D.El.Ed./D.Ed. prior to December 23, 2015, are also eligible.
Paper II (Classes VI to VIII)
Educational Requirements:
- Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates).
- Additional qualifications may include:
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or Bachelor of Education (Special Education).
- 4-year B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed. with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/BC/Differently abled).
- Graduation with a language specialization, Literature, or Oriental Language certification and relevant B.Ed./Language Pandit Training Certificate.
- B.E./B.Tech with at least 50% marks and B.Ed. qualification.
For Language Teachers: Candidates specializing in languages should have Graduation/Post-Graduation in the concerned language, or its equivalent, along with a Language Pandit Training Certificate/B.Ed.
